Dave Auty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Eadan having to interfere. After 6 played minutes Whitworth got a freekick which was hit by CJ Barton. Simon Nelthorpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Eadan having to interfere. In the 11th match minute, East London 2.0 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doug Edison to maneuver through the defense. Shane Boyle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jamie Blake in the 12th minute of the match. Jamie Blake was extremely unlucky when he, in the 19th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Shane Boyle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jamie Blake, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a rather tough play, East London 2.0's Freddy Allanson got a free kick in the 25th minute. The long shot by Ged Monk in the 27th minute really tested Shane Boyle's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Shane Boyle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jamie Blake, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Simon Nelthorpe managed to get in a good position for a shot. East London 2.0's supporters rose to their feet, but Simon Nelthorpe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Eadan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 31 minutes into the game, Christopher Pope was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Whitworth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave East London 2.0 the free kick. In the 32nd minute, Christopher Pope hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jamie Blake received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Shane Boyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dave Auty to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Simon Nelthorpe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East London 2.0's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon Nelthorpe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, East London 2.0's Darren Elliott got a free kick in the 52nd minute. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Jamie Blake put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Shane Boyle. Shane Boyle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Coyle in the 64th minute of play. After 66 minutes, Jamie Blake made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. East London 2.0's Shane Boyle tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 71st minute, Dave Auty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72nd minute, Jamie Blake left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Whitworth fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After 75 played minutes Whitworth got a freekick which was hit by CJ Barton. Dave Auty fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Eadan having to interfere. Shane Boyle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Coyle in the 79th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jamie Blake in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shane Boyle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 93 minutes, Dave Auty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East London 2.0's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dave Auty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Dave Auty fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. East London 2.0's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
