Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) In the 4th minute, Rex Akins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Damien Moody had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute Damien Moody shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conal Marenghi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damien Moody in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Conal Marenghi saved Croughton from getting behind. Croughton's Conal Marenghi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Syd Pell in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Syd Pell in the 35th minute of play forced Croughton's goalkeeper Conal Marenghi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Sutton in Ashfield's goal looked a bit too open when Rex Akins came free, but Edward Lloyd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damien Moody fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conal Marenghi having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Syd Pell in the 45th minute of play forced Croughton's goalkeeper Conal Marenghi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damien Moody sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Syd Pell made the kick off in the second half. Conal Marenghi was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Isaac Thompson. A collision led to Croughton getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Derek Floyd hit a great ball. If Damien Moody had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ralf Small sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edward Lloyd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralf Small, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 71 minutes, Damien Moody managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sutton in Ashfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damien Moody was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Damien Moody sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Isaac Thompson fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sutton in Ashfield's protests and gave Isaac Thompson a yellow card for diving instead. Isaac Thompson kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sutton in Ashfield's goalkeeper Edward Lloyd, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Trevor Porter hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Ralf Small received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Edward Lloyd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
