Kurt Bull sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Kingstanding City's zone, Kurt Bull stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gez Child came out of the goal and Kurt Bull tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 12 played minutes, Kingstanding City's Dean Whiteley shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Trey Dobbs came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kingstanding City reached it. Jamie Tetley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gez Child having to interfere. Malcolm Chambers kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Kurt Bull recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Kingstanding City's zone, Jamie Tetley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gez Child came out of the goal and Jamie Tetley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jamie Tetley came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Hull fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jamie Tetley couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute, Francis Chapman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gez Child was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Kurt Bull fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gez Child having to interfere. Kurt Bull was extremely unlucky when he, in the 36th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 38th minute, Rueben Elliott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gez Child was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Kurt Bull capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kurt Bull really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Kingstanding City's Rueben Elliott got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jamie Tetley might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gez Child. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jamie Tetley ran back to his position shaking his head. 47 minutes into the game, Kurt Bull recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gez Child. Kurt Bull showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The audience thought a goal was coming when Malcolm Chambers got free with Trey Dobbs in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trey Dobbs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Malcolm Chambers in the 57th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Jamie Tetley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Gez Child was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gez Child showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jamie Tetley, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Kingstanding City's goalkeeper Gez Child, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kurt Bull in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gez Child saved Kingstanding City from getting behind. 80 minutes into the match, Kingstanding City's goal looked a bit too open when Jamie Tetley came free, but Gez Child reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rueben Elliott's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Trey Dobbs read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. When Hull's Kurt Bull in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kingstanding City's goalie prevented a goal. After 86 minutes, Sly Sparkes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kingstanding City and the Hull players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hull booed when Kingstanding City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sly Sparkes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute Kurt Bull shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gez Child saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hull's Oliver Slabber got a free kick in the 93rd minute. If Malcolm Chambers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Oscar Wild hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
