Will Bartlett made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when János Solti sent off a good shot on target. 18 minutes into the match, Dzsáffáá's goal looked a bit too open when Gordon Cole came free, but Silvester Street reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvester Street stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gordon Cole's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Silvester Street showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reuben Sadler, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stan Weatherhead in the 22nd minute of play forced Dzsáffáá's goalkeeper Silvester Street to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Junior Fordham kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Will Bartlett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andy Frost in the 29th minute. János Solti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Will Bartlett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oxford's goalkeeper Will Bartlett, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Vince Leach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sol Picker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will Bartlett having to interfere. János Solti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Will Bartlett made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Darryl Greenwood kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Will Bartlett. That made the score 2-1 in the 43 minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Dzsáffáá's goal looked a bit too open when Nick Mawson came free, but Silvester Street reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48thth minute of the game Nick Mawson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dzsáffáá's Silvester Street was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

After 51 minutes, Darryl Greenwood mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dzsáffáá and the Oxford players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Dzsáffáá's Darryl Greenwood got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Silvester Street made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Gordon Cole sent off a good shot on target. After 55 played minutes Dzsáffáá got a freekick which was hit by Timothy Duxbury. Gordon Cole in the 57thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Silvester Street, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 59th minute, Louis Hallam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Oxford's zone, János Solti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Will Bartlett came out of the goal and János Solti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dzsáffáá's Silvester Street played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reuben Sadler in the 68th minute of play. In the 70th minute Reuben Sadler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvester Street saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barney Ramsay charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Barney Ramsay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Barney Ramsay kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Dzsáffáá's Silvester Street proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Dzsáffáá from getting a goal against them. After 75 minutes, Stan Weatherhead mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oxford and the Dzsáffáá players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a left leg Will Bartlett saved Oxford from getting behind. With an all-out effort, Oxford's Silvester Street threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Reuben Sadler, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Silvester Street didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nick Mawson went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Oxford's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
