Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Freddie Pryor made the kick off which started today's match. After a defensive mix-up in Broadstairs's zone, Warren Shuttleworth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harvey Battersby came out of the goal and Warren Shuttleworth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 7 minutes, Freddie Pryor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dedham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddie Pryor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 8th minute, Matt Blacknell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harvey Battersby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddie Pryor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Warren Shuttleworth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Broadstairs getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Matt Blacknell hit a great ball. In the 25th minute, Broadstairs's Allan Cotton dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shaun Mulford during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Shaun Mulford hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. If Allan Cotton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Broadstairs booed when Dedham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calvin Moyse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allan Cotton struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Jake Burbeary didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Broadstairs. 46 minutes into the match, Allan Cotton dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jake Burbeary, 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Allan Cotton to make the kick off. The hit was so bad that he suffered a foot injury. 60 minutes into the game, Wes Fawell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Broadstairs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dedham the free kick. Wes Fawell hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After having played for 69 minutes, Wes Fawell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
