But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stan Pollard couldn't finish the play. Stan Pollard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jamie Rhodes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Purkiss in the 7th minute of the match. Damian Sawyer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Bradley Whitmore made a huge save. Damian Sawyer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Bradley Whitmore when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Damian Sawyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Bradley Whitmore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Damian Sawyer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bradley Whitmore came out of the goal and Damian Sawyer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Huyton FC booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rufus Busby didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Huyton FC's Chip Mortimer got a free kick in the 27th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Huyton FC's zone, Stan Pollard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bradley Whitmore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donald Hutchinson in the 35th minute of the match. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Rufus Busby hit a great ball. Donald Hutchinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bradley Whitmore having to interfere. Manchester United's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Donald Hutchinson 41 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Rufus Busby hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Donald Hutchinson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donald Hutchinson to make the kick off. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Freddy Dyson hit a great ball. In the 52nd minute Damian Sawyer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bradley Whitmore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Sawyer came free, but Bradley Whitmore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute, Benjamin Purkiss got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Donald Hutchinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian Sawyer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Huyton FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
