David Carpenter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ashley Shilton in the 7th minute of play. Sheerness United's David Carpenter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Sheerness United from getting a goal against them. David Carpenter was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Alf Gulliver capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alf Gulliver really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After 18 played minutes Sheerness United got a freekick which was hit by Niall Kelly. The supporters of Millbrook United booed when Sheerness United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Hamilton didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Sheerness United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Millbrook United:s goal. In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Millbrook United. Kevin Stockley stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving David Carpenter. 2-0. In the 36th minute, Alf Gulliver got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th minute Alf Gulliver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Carpenter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tommy Prutton succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 4-0 in the 41st playminute. Tommy Prutton could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but David Carpenter made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

David Carpenter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ashley Shilton in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes into the game, Millbrook United's Eric Folwill nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Carpenter made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. David Carpenter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Prutton in the 60th minute of the match. Alf Gulliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. David Carpenter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute Tommy Prutton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Carpenter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Carpenter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alf Gulliver in the 69th minute of play. Niall Kelly's late challenge caught a Millbrook United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niall Kelly helped the player get up and apologised. In the 71st minute, Niall Kelly hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tommy Prutton struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. David Carpenter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Millbrook United. If Alf Gulliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Sheerness United's Niall Kelly got a free kick in the 81st minute. David Carpenter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alf Gulliver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 86 played minutes Sheerness United got a freekick which was hit by Niall Kelly. Millbrook United's Tommy Prutton got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alf Gulliver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alf Gulliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Carpenter having to interfere. Millbrook United walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
