Stoke Lodge Rovers's Glyn Parslow started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Maidenhead City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franz Everard to maneuver through the defense. Jamal Lonsdale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ron Rusby having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Stoke Lodge Rovers's goal looked a bit too open when Jamal Lonsdale came free, but Ron Rusby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ron Rusby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnnie Holdsworth in the 14th minute of the match. Ron Rusby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamal Lonsdale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luke Lobb hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Maidenhead City's Luke Lobb got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ron Rusby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnnie Holdsworth, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Ron Rusby came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Maidenhead City's Luke Lobb. But to his dismay, Luke Lobb quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After having played for 27 minutes, Jamal Lonsdale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maidenhead City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jamal Lonsdale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Jamal Lonsdale notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Stoke Lodge Rovers's Ron Rusby. Ron Rusby was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ron Rusby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnnie Holdsworth, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ron Rusby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnnie Holdsworth in the 44th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Stoke Lodge Rovers's Leigh Tompkins got a free kick in the 44th minute. Ron Rusby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnnie Holdsworth in the 46th minute of play.

The wind increased when Jamal Lonsdale made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute Jamal Lonsdale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ron Rusby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franz Everard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Ron Rusby made a huge save. Johnnie Holdsworth made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 61stth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Ron Rusby would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Jamal Lonsdale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Stoke Lodge Rovers defense, Johnnie Holdsworth kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ron Rusby. The Stoke Lodge Rovers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ron Rusby should have stopped the shot. In the 71st minute, Luke Lobb reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ron Rusby. The goal made the score 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Stoke Lodge Rovers's zone, Jamal Lonsdale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ron Rusby came out of the goal and Jamal Lonsdale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Jamal Lonsdale's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ron Rusby was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. 78 minutes into the game, Leigh Tompkins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stoke Lodge Rovers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maidenhead City the free kick. Leigh Tompkins hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Johnnie Holdsworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ron Rusby having to interfere. Ron Rusby made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Johnnie Holdsworth sent off a good shot on target. Jamal Lonsdale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ron Rusby having to interfere. After having played for 94 minutes, Gus Newton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maidenhead City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gus Newton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 96 played minutes Stoke Lodge Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Rowan Pye-Finch. Stoke Lodge Rovers's Ron Rusby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Stoke Lodge Rovers from getting a goal against them. The Stoke Lodge Rovers fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Maidenhead City were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
