With a little luck, SuckMyAss United's Devon Pollard got control of the ball when Fitz Upson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Southsea's Pedro Devine got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Piers Bowler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rich Griggs having to interfere. Rich Griggs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Bittner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fitz Upson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Noel Stonebridge hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Piers Bowler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rich Griggs having to interfere. Henry Bittner took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rich Griggs. Rich Griggs dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. SuckMyAss United's Devon Pollard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Devine in the 41st minute of play. Fitz Upson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Pedro Devine got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Southsea's Pedro Devine sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Devon Pollard narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henry Bittner to make the kick off. Marlon Parslow kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Devon Pollard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Devine in the 57th minute of play. In the 63rd minute of the match Wayne Fairs sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Devon Pollard skillfully saved the ball. Pedro Devine might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Devon Pollard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Devine ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the SuckMyAss United defense, Fitz Upson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Devon Pollard. The SuckMyAss United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Devon Pollard should have stopped the shot. Henry Bittner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Devine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devon Pollard having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Henry Bittner's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rich Griggs was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. 79 minutes into the match, SuckMyAss United's goal looked a bit too open when Fitz Upson came free, but Devon Pollard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind SuckMyAss United's goalkeeper Devon Pollard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Devine in the 95th minute of play forced SuckMyAss United's goalkeeper Devon Pollard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
