Stamford Stalwarts's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Matthew Dunlop in the 23rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Stamford Stalwarts's zone, Ollie Brindley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronnie Buchanan came out of the goal and Ollie Brindley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Whitechapel defense, Ron Dixon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leigh Spurgeon. The Whitechapel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leigh Spurgeon should have stopped the shot. If Josh Abbotts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ron Dixon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ron Dixon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leigh Spurgeon having to make a save. When Vincent Bayne fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Stamford Stalwarts's Ronnie Buchanan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Bennett in the 42nd minute of play. Ritchie Bowler hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

60 minutes in the game, Ollie Brindley fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ronnie Buchanan having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josh Abbotts in the 69th minute of play forced Whitechapel's goalkeeper Leigh Spurgeon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Josh Abbotts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Leigh Spurgeon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Ron Dixon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stamford Stalwarts's supporters rose to their feet, but Ron Dixon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leigh Spurgeon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ron Dixon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josh Abbotts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute.
