Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tommy Elam started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Brighouse United got a freekick which was hit by Craig Ackroyd. After recieving a nice pass, Uffington's Walter Nicholls tried to score from far away in the 4th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 5th minute, Trev Llyod got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Uffington getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Mick Wardell hit a great ball. Sol Bateman made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Trev Llyod sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 11 minutes, Trev Llyod managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uffington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trev Llyod was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tommy Elam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sol Bateman having to interfere. Sol Bateman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tommy Elam's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Tommy Elam hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. A collision led to Uffington getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Mick Wardell hit a great ball. When Brighouse United's Ian Barnfield in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uffington's goalie prevented a goal. Ian Barnfield struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Dominic Hilton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brighouse United. Tommy Elam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Mick Wardell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Brighouse United booed when Uffington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roy Mullen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 38 minutes Uffington's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Craig Ackroyd who took care of the corner kick. Uffington's Trev Llyod got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ian Barnfield took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dominic Hilton. Dominic Hilton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ian Barnfield made a kick off. When Tommy Elam came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Uffington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tommy Elam couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Uffington's Tommy Elam got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Uffington's goalkeeper Dominic Hilton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simeon Blueman. 67 minutes into the game, Uffington's Trev Llyod nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sol Bateman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Roy Mullen's late challenge caught a Brighouse United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roy Mullen helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 80 minutes, Simeon Blueman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brighouse United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simeon Blueman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Uffington's Tommy Elam got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brighouse United's Sol Bateman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trev Llyod in the 87th minute of play. Trev Llyod might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sol Bateman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Trev Llyod ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trev Llyod in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sol Bateman prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
