The audience was convinced that Brendon Fairfax's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roy Pearch was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. The Morden fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Morden's Bart Cross looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Roy Pearch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brendon Fairfax in the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute of the match Ben Wilson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but CJ Sheehan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 26 minutes, Aaron Leeson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sunderland and the Morden players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes Sunderland got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Leeson. CJ Sheehan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathanial Hird, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CJ Sheehan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bart Cross in the 41st minute of play. CJ Sheehan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathanial Hird in the 47th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Bart Cross made the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes Sunderland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Sunderland's CJ Sheehan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Sunderland from getting a goal against them. Olly Pryor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but CJ Sheehan made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Nathanial Hird managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morden's supporters rose to their feet, but Nathanial Hird was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. CJ Sheehan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Morden's Bart Cross got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bart Cross sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Morden's Brett Barfield got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute of the match Noel Ingham sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roy Pearch skillfully saved the ball. Basil Pearce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Roy Pearch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
