Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Philip Clark's late challenge caught a Warrington KK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Don Rush's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Graham Bird read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Warrington KK's Don Rush slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Graham Bird. That made the score 0-3 after 95 minutes of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Warrington KK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
