Mattias Coburn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sol Vassell in the 4th minute of the match. In the 6th minute Ivan Rushforth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pat Slade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Barrow upon Humber City getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Jacob Clark hit a great ball. Phillip Percival sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivan Rushforth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Pat Slade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfie Mortlock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tommy Varley charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tommy Varley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tommy Varley hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Wirral County's goal looked a bit too open when Sol Vassell came free, but Mattias Coburn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes in the game, Phillip Percival fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Pat Slade having to interfere. Pat Slade stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivan Rushforth's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Sol Vassell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Rushforth in the 34th minute of play forced Barrow upon Humber City's goalkeeper Pat Slade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Ivan Rushforth made the kick off in the second half. Barrow upon Humber City's Pat Slade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Rushforth in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the game, Patrick Kitchen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barrow upon Humber City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wirral County the free kick. After 54 played minutes Barrow upon Humber City got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Kitchen. When Ivan Rushforth came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Wirral County fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Rushforth couldn't finish the play. Phillip Percival fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pat Slade having to interfere. Pat Slade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Rushforth in the 70th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Sol Vassell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barrow upon Humber City's supporters rose to their feet, but Sol Vassell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mattias Coburn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 73 minutes into the match, Wirral County's goalkeeper Mattias Coburn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfie Mortlock. Barrow upon Humber City's Sol Vassell got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mattias Coburn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfie Mortlock in the 76th minute. Pat Slade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Rushforth in the 81st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Mattias Coburn successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sol Vassell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Ivan Rushforth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wirral County's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Rushforth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pat Slade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfie Mortlock got free with Mattias Coburn in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Wirral County supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Barrow upon Humber City's performance. The match ended with a win for Barrow upon Humber City.
