Seb Dlyan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Larry Eyre made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Wanborough United's Bruce Titmus got a free kick in the 26th minute. Wells City's Wayne Bridge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dion Courtney in the 28th minute of play. Dion Courtney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Bridge having to interfere. Seb Dlyan struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Larry Eyre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wells City. The audience thought a goal was coming when Seb Dlyan got free with Larry Eyre in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Wayne Bridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dion Courtney in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Bruce Titmus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 59 played minutes, Wanborough United's Neil Rhodes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wayne Bridge came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Wanborough United reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Wanborough United's zone, Ben Wilmott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Larry Eyre came out of the goal and Ben Wilmott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wells City's Wayne Bridge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dion Courtney in the 67th minute of play. Wayne Bridge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dion Courtney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 90 played minutes Wells City got a freekick which was hit by Jerry Selby. Dion Courtney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
