Middlesbrough Town's Marcus Vine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frazer Welch in the 13th minute of play. Frazer Welch charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frazer Welch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Frazer Welch kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Middlesbrough Town's goal looked a bit too open when Eric York came free, but Marcus Vine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kieran Butterfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcus Vine made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lennie Durrant in the 25th minute. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Lee Washington sped through Middlesbrough Town's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcus Vine. If Frazer Welch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carl Singleton to make the kick off. Verne Gavan was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Ivor Tully sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frazer Welch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carl Singleton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Verne Gavan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Middlesbrough Town's goal looked a bit too open when Lee Washington came free, but Marcus Vine reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Verne Gavan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Singleton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute Frazer Welch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Vine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Carl Singleton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Middlesbrough Town's supporters rose to their feet, but Carl Singleton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Verne Gavan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ivor Tully came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Middlesbrough Town fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivor Tully couldn't finish the play. Canvey Island's Eric York got his second yellow card of the match in the 89th minute. The referee ordered Eric York off the ground. The supporters of Middlesbrough Town booed when Canvey Island was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric York didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Carl Singleton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Kieran Butterfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
