Crispin Dlyan started the match with the kick off. Henry Emberson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. A very good chance. 8 minutes into the match, Thornhill's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Emberson came free, but Sammy Tabb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute Henry Emberson suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. Ken Johnson's late challenge caught a Barnetby Le Wold FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ken Johnson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Thornhill getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ken Johnson hit a great ball. Crispin Dlyan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Calum Booth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Fred Tanner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fred Tanner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Crispin Dlyan in the 22nd minute of the match. The supporters of Barnetby Le Wold FC booed when Thornhill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart Holroyd didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Thornhill's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Cuss came free, but Sammy Tabb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Barnetby Le Wold FC's Ivan Hampshire got a free kick in the 35th minute. When Calum Booth came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Thornhill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Calum Booth couldn't finish the play.

In the 58th minute Calum Booth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Tanner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jack Cuss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 96 minutes, Ivan Hampshire managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barnetby Le Wold FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Hampshire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
