With a little luck, Manchester United's Derek Woodier got control of the ball when Tosh Potterton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nial Hough could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Derek Woodier made a huge save. Kev Coulthard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonny Chambers in the 10th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Nial Hough reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Derek Woodier. The goal made the score 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Rowell in the 17th minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Derek Woodier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Derek Woodier made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Nial Hough sent off a good shot on target. 24 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goalkeeper Derek Woodier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nial Hough. 25 minutes into the match, Mark Rowell notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Manchester United's Derek Woodier. Derek Woodier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kev Coulthard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Dines, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Derek Woodier was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Tosh Potterton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tosh Potterton really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nial Hough got free with Derek Woodier in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Derek Woodier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Rowell in the 38th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Nial Hough made a precise shot to the right of Derek Woodier. Manchester United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 47 minutes into the match, Mark Rowell dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Derek Woodier, 5-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The wind increased when Jonny Chambers made the kick off in the second half. Manchester United's Derek Woodier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nial Hough in the 56th minute of play. After some careless play in the Manchester United defense, Brendon Nelson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Derek Woodier. The Manchester United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Derek Woodier should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brendon Nelson in the 65th minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Derek Woodier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Greg Chadwick in the 68th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by BEDFORD's Tosh Potterton. In the 68th minute, Tosh Potterton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sacha Stansfield in the 70th minute of play forced BEDFORD's goalkeeper Kev Coulthard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vic Allott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derek Woodier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nial Hough, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Rowan Thornton hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 85 minutes into the game, BEDFORD's Nial Hough nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Derek Woodier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. Derek Woodier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Rowell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nial Hough took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Derek Woodier. Derek Woodier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. 95 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Brendon Nelson came free, but Derek Woodier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 96 minutes of play, BEDFORD's Tosh Potterton made it 11-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Derek Woodier was left in no man's land by his defense there!
