Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Marty Hopton made the kick off which started today's match. Sean Monk's late challenge caught a Fulbourn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sean Monk helped the player get up and apologised. After 3 played minutes Godalming got a freekick which was hit by Sean Monk. Tom Rundle charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tom Rundle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th minute, Tom Rundle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Godalming's zone, Will Sharples stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wes Starr came out of the goal and Will Sharples tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mickey Blake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marty Hopton in the 28th minute of the match. Zackary Newbury kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Marty Hopton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Mickey Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tom Rundles short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Mickey Blake to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mickey Blake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marty Hopton in the 45th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Will Sharples to make the kick off. Tony Lilley struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Wes Starr didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fulbourn. Wes Starr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Will Sharples, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 64th minute, Marty Hopton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Godalming fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. When Will Sharples fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fulbourn's protests and gave Will Sharples a yellow card for diving instead. In the 74th minute Will Sharples shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wes Starr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marty Hopton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Mickey Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Fulbourn booed when Godalming was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rhys Stonebridge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fulbourn's Freddy Lancaster couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Godalming. If Will Sharples had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tom Rundle struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Mickey Blake didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Godalming. In the 92nd minute Godalming were awarded a corner. Hugh Moore went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Hugh Moore almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Fulbourn's Mickey Blake did a great save. 93 minutes into the game, Tom Rundle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Mickey Blake was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Fulbourn players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Godalming.
