Farnworth's Gav Knowles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Tucker in the 7th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Bedford in the 13th minute of play forced Lowton's goalkeeper Stew Blunt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute of the match Miles Lennon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gav Knowles showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Andy Bedford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Farnworth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andy Bedford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Devon Friend hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Gav Knowles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Tucker in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th match minute, Lowton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Callum Horsell to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Farnworth's Rich Blacksmith got a free kick in the 35th minute. Crispin Trueman was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 36th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Daniel Tucker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gav Knowles having to interfere. Gav Knowles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugh Barratt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andy Bedford was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Hugh Barratt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gav Knowles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Tucker's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gav Knowles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Hugh Barratt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Gav Knowles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Farnworth getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Grant Love hit a great ball. Daniel Tucker scored 1-1 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gav Knowles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 87 minutes, Hugh Barratt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The attack was good, but when Hugh Barratt in the 91st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Hugh Barratt came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Lowton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugh Barratt couldn't finish the play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
