Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Gavin Carey made the kick off and thus started the match. After 4 minutes of play, Sheffield's Ash Butterfield made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frank Armitstead was left in no man's land by his defense there! Frank Armitstead took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Rowland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Sheffield's Reggie Blueman ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Frank Armitstead. Frank Armitstead yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Frank Armitstead showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ash Butterfield in the 13th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Harvey Lawson in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charlie Jones prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ash Butterfield in the 24th minute of play forced Putney Rovers's goalkeeper Frank Armitstead to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 played minutes Putney Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Pete Sledge. Charlie Jones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darren Longthorn in the 29th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Putney Rovers's goal looked a bit too open when Ash Butterfield came free, but Frank Armitstead reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Pete Sledge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harvey Lawson in the 36th minute of play forced Sheffield's goalkeeper Charlie Jones to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harvey Lawson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charlie Jones having to interfere. Darren Longthorn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harvey Lawson took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Charlie Jones. Charlie Jones dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 47 minutes into the match, Darren Longthorn notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Sheffield's Charlie Jones. Charlie Jones was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Harvey Lawson made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Sheffield's Phil Preston nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frank Armitstead made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Darren Longthorn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Charlie Jones read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Darren Longthorn had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Charlie Jones. Sheffield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darren Longthorn was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. A collision led to Putney Rovers getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Pete Sledge hit a great ball. Frank Armitstead showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doug Macken in the 64th minute of the match. After 67 minutes of play, Sheffield's Reggie Blueman made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frank Armitstead was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 76th minute, Reggie Blueman made a precise shot to the right of Frank Armitstead. Putney Rovers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-3. Frank Armitstead came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Sheffield's Reggie Blueman. But to his dismay, Reggie Blueman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-3. Frank Armitstead made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ash Butterfield in the 85th minute of play. After 86 played minutes Putney Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Jake Litchfield. In the 88th minute of the match Steven Woodhall sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frank Armitstead skillfully saved the ball. Darren Longthorn might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charlie Jones. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darren Longthorn ran back to his position shaking his head. Darren Longthorn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Charlie Jones tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 played minutes Sheffield got a freekick which was hit by Reggie Blueman. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sheffield fully deserved thier win.
