Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Wimbledon's Cliff Caton started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chesney Blackley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harvey Timiney's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Zaq Afful hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. If Deon Ainge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Zaq Afful fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wimbledon's protests and gave Zaq Afful a yellow card for diving instead. Zaq Afful kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Adam Ealham had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfie Newman. Worksop's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adam Ealham was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Adam Ealham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Alfie Newman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deon Ainge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Chesney Blackley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adam Ealham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfie Newman having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Worksop's Alfie Newman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Ealham in the 55th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Wimbledon's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Deon Ainge fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 71 minutes, Billy Scriven mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wimbledon and the Worksop players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Worksop booed when Wimbledon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Scriven didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Deon Ainge came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Worksop fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deon Ainge couldn't finish the play. Adam Ealham scored 2-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfie Newman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Deon Ainge came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Worksop fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deon Ainge couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Worksop's zone, Adam Ealham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfie Newman came out of the goal and Adam Ealham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the match, Cliff Caton notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Worksop's Alfie Newman. Alfie Newman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 90th minute Adam Ealham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfie Newman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Ealham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wimbledon's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
