In the 14thth minute of the game Karl Cole who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Meols AFC's Les Hughes-Guy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Paddy Maxwell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geoff Carragher in the 23rd minute of play. If Bruce Haskell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Acton FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Justin Foggarty hit a great ball. If Bruce Haskell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Les Hughes-Guy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Will Hales in the 42nd minute of the match. The Acton FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Meols AFC were winning 0-1.

After a defensive mix-up in Meols AFC's zone, Karl Cole stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Les Hughes-Guy came out of the goal and Karl Cole tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Acton FC's Felix Platt in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Meols AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Marcus Wadham hit a great ball. 69 minutes into the match, Felix Platt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Les Hughes-Guy. Meols AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Platt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 79th minute, Justin Foggarty left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Acton FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Geoff Carragher scored 2-2 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paddy Maxwell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 94th minute, Felix Platt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Meols AFC's Les Hughes-Guy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Cole in the 97th minute of play.
