The tension between the Sandhurst and the Plaza Mayor players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Plaza Mayor booed when Sandhurst was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shane Barnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lawrence Pearson made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Rex Cooper sent off a good shot on target. Lawrence Pearson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwyn Steadman, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Gwyn Steadman charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. With a little luck, Plaza Mayor's Lawrence Pearson got control of the ball when Rex Cooper tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teddy Sheldon got free with Lawrence Pearson in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sandhurst's Rex Cooper came free and shot a quick shot against goal 17 minutes in the game, fortunately Lawrence Pearson had problems saving as it came toward the left post. If Iain Garner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aaron Norton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lawrence Pearson made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Rex Cooper sent off a good shot on target. Shane Barnes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Lawrence Pearson made a huge save. Iain Garner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 29 minutes into the game, Iain Garner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jimmy Fielden was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 36 minutes into the game, Plaza Mayor's Aaron Norton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jimmy Fielden made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 39th minute, Aaron Norton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th match minute, Sandhurst was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Seth Featherson to maneuver through the defense. Aaron Norton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Plaza Mayor were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Danny Longden made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Plaza Mayor's goal looked a bit too open when Danny Longden came free, but Lawrence Pearson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Barnes in the 58th minute of play forced Plaza Mayor's goalkeeper Lawrence Pearson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute Danny Longden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lawrence Pearson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 63 played minutes Sandhurst got a freekick which was hit by Danny Longden. After a rather tough play, Sandhurst's Jonathon Walker got a free kick in the 67th minute. Plaza Mayor's Aaron Norton got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lawrence Pearson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rex Cooper in the 78th minute of play. Gwyn Steadman spun around in front of the goal 80 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Plaza Mayor's goal. The supporters of Plaza Mayor booed when Sandhurst was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shane Barnes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iain Garner struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Jimmy Fielden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Plaza Mayor. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Plaza Mayor eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
