Gav Huxtable received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Garry Breckin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Trevor Summerfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Stayton got free with Sebastian Forrest in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If David Jordan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastian Forrest made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christian Stayton in the 16th minute. Olly Bettinson made a great header on Scarborough's corner, it was just that Wheaton Aston's Sebastian Forrest managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 47th minute, Duncan Heath got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Jordan to strike the kick off in the second half. Christian Stayton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wheaton Aston's Sebastian Forrest played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Stayton in the 58th minute of play. David Jordan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Malcolm Elwick kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, David Jordan put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sebastian Forrest. After having played for 66 minutes, Christian Stayton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scarborough's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian Stayton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68th minute, Malcolm Elwick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Scarborough's David Jordan got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 77th minute David Jordan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Forrest saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Scarborough fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 87 minutes, Wheaton Aston's Basil Fletcher got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Garry Breckin. In the 92nd minute, Wheaton Aston's Trevor Summerfield ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Garry Breckin. Garry Breckin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. 95 minutes into the match, Scarborough's goal looked a bit too open when Trevor Summerfield came free, but Garry Breckin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Wheaton Aston supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wheaton Aston would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
