In the 14th match minute, Biggleswade FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley Young to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bedford's goalkeeper Tris Nelthorpe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Lambourne in the 21st minute of play forced Bedford's goalkeeper Tris Nelthorpe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alexander Beavan fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bedford's protests and gave Alexander Beavan a yellow card for diving instead. Alexander Beavan hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Bedford's goal looked a bit too open when Sam Lambourne came free, but Tris Nelthorpe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henry Bignot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phil Fletcher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Carl Rowell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Verne McNiven recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Phil Fletcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tris Nelthorpe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Verne McNiven in the 34th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bedford's zone, Verne McNiven stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tris Nelthorpe came out of the goal and Verne McNiven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Verne McNiven sped through Bedford's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tris Nelthorpe. Phil Fletcher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Rowell having to interfere. If Sam Lambourne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

56 minutes into the match, Biggleswade FC's goal looked a bit too open when Phil Fletcher came free, but Carl Rowell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, Bedford's Phil Fletcher nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carl Rowell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 66 minutes into the game, Alex Dixon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Biggleswade FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bedford the free kick. The supporters of Bedford booed when Biggleswade FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Dixon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zane Elam was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 67th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Biggleswade FC's goalkeeper Carl Rowell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Sam Lambourne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Biggleswade FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sam Lambourne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tris Nelthorpe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Bedford defense, Sam Lambourne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tris Nelthorpe. The Bedford fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tris Nelthorpe should have stopped the shot. Henry Bignot came free with the goalkeeper in the 85th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Carl Rowell could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Biggleswade FC's zone, Phil Fletcher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carl Rowell came out of the goal and Phil Fletcher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tris Nelthorpe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sam Lambourne in the 89th minute of play. In the 93rd match minute, Bedford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincent Lindley to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Biggleswade FC's Carl Rowell got control of the ball when Henry Bignot tried to sneak it across the goal line.
