Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Adrian Cutts got the match started through his kick off. After 3 played minutes Chesterfield United got a freekick which was hit by Graham Corrigan. Lloyd Sutcliffe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Nathan Bryden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Chesterfield United's Adrian Cutts slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Neil Fish. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. Benjamin Bridge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johnathan Appleton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nathan Bryden read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Adrian Cutts had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Neil Fish. Hurst Green's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrian Cutts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Johnathan Appleton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamin Bridge in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Neil Fish, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Hurst Green's zone, Benjamin Bridge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Neil Fish came out of the goal and Benjamin Bridge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adrian Cutts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 68th minute, Johnathan Appleton fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Nathan Bryden made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lloyd Sutcliffe in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Bridge in the 76th minute of play forced Hurst Green's goalkeeper Neil Fish to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Chesterfield United's zone, Johnathan Appleton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nathan Bryden came out of the goal and Johnathan Appleton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Johnathan Appleton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Hurst Green's goalkeeper Neil Fish, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Chesterfield United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
