If Kyle Blakeley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivor Blake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simeon Storry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivor Blake showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simeon Storry, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Reg Armitage sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, George Barber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivor Blake was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dave Gavan. Kevin Sparks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Seth Stone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damian Wills hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Seth Stone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyle Blakeley in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute Kevin Sparks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seth Stone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Frankie Buckley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fletching United's supporters rose to their feet, but Frankie Buckley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivor Blake breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simeon Storry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 42 minutes, George Barber mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boscastle City and the Fletching United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th minute, Kevin Sparks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kyle Blakeley to strike the kick off in the second half. Ivor Blake came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Fletching United's Simeon Storry. But to his dismay, Simeon Storry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 57 played minutes, Fletching United's Dave Gavan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivor Blake came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fletching United reached it. Ivor Blake showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reg Armitage, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After 59 played minutes Boscastle City got a freekick which was hit by Will Hutchings. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Simeon Storry in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivor Blake saved Boscastle City from getting behind. Boscastle City's Kevin Sparks got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 70 in the game by Kevin Sparks from a close distance when the talented Seth Stone managed to make a qualified save. Fletching United's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kevin Sparks got free with Seth Stone in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simeon Storry in the 80th minute of play forced Boscastle City's goalkeeper Ivor Blake to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 played minutes, Fletching United's Gerry Newton shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivor Blake came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fletching United reached it.
