The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of SVV Scheveningen booed when Hurst Green AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Boulding didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 9th match minute, Hurst Green AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Boulding to maneuver through the defense. Jeremy Wardman made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Garth Jones sent off a good shot on target. Rio Jewson didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Hurst Green AFC's Pierce Wardle shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. When SVV Scheveningen's Garth Jones in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Russell Partridge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Rio Jewson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the SVV Scheveningen defense, Pierce Wardle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rio Jewson. The SVV Scheveningen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rio Jewson should have stopped the shot. Liam Hewitt thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Rio Jewson, a very annoying self made goal in the 48th minute which led to 0-4. After the first half Hurst Green AFC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Jeremy Wardman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garth Jones, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 59th minute, Russell Partridge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pierce Wardle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rio Jewson having to interfere. In the 61st match minute, SVV Scheveningen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Austen Spacey to maneuver through the defense. Russell Partridge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Rio Jewson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Craig Norton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, SVV Scheveningen's Rio Jewson got control of the ball when Russell Partridge tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rio Jewson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pierce Wardle's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. 91 minutes into the match, SVV Scheveningen's goalkeeper Rio Jewson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Russell Partridge. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pierce Wardle in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rio Jewson saved SVV Scheveningen from getting behind. The SVV Scheveningen fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hurst Green AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
