Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Margate United's Zane Dowrick started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Scott Kenna fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wanlip's protests and gave Scott Kenna a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th match minute, Wanlip was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Scott Kenna to maneuver through the defense. Margate United's Joseph Southgate couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 5th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Wanlip. Margate United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Liam Inman scored to the left of an out of position Johnnie Longthorn, making the score, 1-0. If Zane Dowrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger Crittenden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zane Dowrick in the 19th minute of play. If Zane Dowrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Margate United's Johnnie Longthorn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Inman in the 29th minute of play. Johnnie Longthorn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brad Beard, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 34 played minutes Margate United got a freekick which was hit by Sean Challis. In the 36th match minute, Wanlip was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Manson to maneuver through the defense. Joseph Southgate recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roger Crittenden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chip Higgins, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Liam Inman to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Margate United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chip Higgins to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liam Inman in the 52nd minute of play forced Margate United's goalkeeper Johnnie Longthorn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Wanlip's Roger Crittenden got control of the ball when Russ Venables tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Thom Louis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Russ Venables received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Roger Crittenden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johnnie Longthorn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thom Louis in the 65th minute of play. Johnnie Longthorn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thom Louis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute Liam Inman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnnie Longthorn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Wanlip! A collision led to Margate United getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Neil Robins hit a great ball. Thom Louis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Liam Inman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
