The tension between the Halifax and the Callington City players grew even worse after the yellow card. One of Halifax:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Callington City:s goal. In the 76th minute there was a penalty for Callington City. Dom Gray stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tod Steele. 3-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lance Barber in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pete Giugno saved Callington City from getting behind. Christian Backhouse blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tod Steele having to make a save. Tod Steele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alec Wood in the 94th minute of play. Alec Wood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 97 minutes into the game, Marty Martin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Halifax's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Callington City the free kick. After a rather tough play, Halifax's Marty Martin got a free kick in the 97th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
