After 13 minutes, Olly Legg made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Middleton FC's Pedro Bird tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Les Dobbs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurt Flower having to interfere. After 24 minutes, Denis Barker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yapton City and the Middleton FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Middleton FC booed when Yapton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Barker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teddy Hitchen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vance Fayle charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vance Fayle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vance Fayle kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 29th minute Les Dobbs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kurt Flower saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Olly Legg came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Yapton City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olly Legg couldn't finish the play. Vance Fayle struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Pedro Bird didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yapton City. In the 38th minute, Olly Legg fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Pedro Bird took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sly Basterfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sly Basterfield might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Bird. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sly Basterfield ran back to his position shaking his head. 44 minutes into the game, Sly Basterfield recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pedro Bird. Sly Basterfield showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Les Dobbs to strike the kick off in the second half. If Les Dobbs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yapton City's goalkeeper Kurt Flower, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 67th minute, Sly Basterfield left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yapton City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Kurt Flower stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Les Dobbs's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Kurt Flower showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Les Dobbs in the 74th minute of the match. After 77 played minutes Middleton FC got a freekick which was hit by Pierre Bastow. Sly Basterfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Pedro Bird tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Middleton FC's Pedro Bird played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sly Basterfield in the 84th minute of play. When Middleton FC's Les Dobbs in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yapton City's goalie prevented a goal. Pierre Bastow hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After 94 minutes, Les Dobbs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Middleton FC and the Yapton City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Middleton FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Les Dobbs to maneuver through the defense. 96 minutes into the match, Middleton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sly Basterfield came free, but Pedro Bird reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
