The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Burnham on Crouch's Gary Hughes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Burnham on Crouch from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Ralf Frost managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burnham on Crouch's supporters rose to their feet, but Ralf Frost was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benji Flower breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 13 played minutes Leytonstone City got a freekick which was hit by Kyle Cousens. Gary Hughes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jools Piercy in the 17th minute of the match. When Nial Rice fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Burnham on Crouch's protests and gave Nial Rice a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th match minute, Burnham on Crouch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nial Rice to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Burnham on Crouch's goalkeeper Gary Hughes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gus Simpson. Ralf Frost recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th match minute, Leytonstone City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicholas Partridge to maneuver through the defense. Aaron Bzeu hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Benji Flower showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brett Sunderland in the 46th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the game, Kyle Cousens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leytonstone City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Burnham on Crouch the free kick. Benji Flower took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralf Frost, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Jools Piercy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Jools Piercy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gus Simpson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Gary Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 66 minutes into the game, when Damian Ashton put in a rough tackle. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Burnham on Crouch! Gus Simpson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gary Hughes having to interfere. Vern Portway hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute of the match Dave Atkinson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gary Hughes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jools Piercy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gary Hughes having to interfere. Gary Hughes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jools Piercy in the 88th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the game, Andre Robson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Burnham on Crouch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leytonstone City the free kick. In the 91stth minute of the game Gus Simpson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Burnham on Crouch's Gary Hughes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 93rd minute of the match Leytonstone City got a corner. Burnham on Crouch's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dave Atkinson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Leytonstone City's Dave Atkinson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gary Hughes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 96 minutes into the match, Leytonstone City's goalkeeper Benji Flower had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ralf Frost. Leytonstone City's Benji Flower proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Leytonstone City from getting a goal against them. Burnham on Crouch's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
