Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Thomas Graydon kicked off to start the match. Sid Buckler's late challenge caught a Cleator Moor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sid Buckler helped the player get up and apologised. Ged Abbott was a little too slow when Thomas Graydon got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 3-0. After having played for 20 minutes, Thomas Graydon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cleator Moor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomas Graydon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jermaine Baker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Graydon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ged Abbott having to interfere. Joseph Brindley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Jenas in the 25th minute of play. If Thomas Graydon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When John-Paul Phimister fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cleator Moor's protests and gave John-Paul Phimister a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cleator Moor getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. John-Paul Phimister hit a great ball. The attack was good, but when Tom Jenas in the 39th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The supporters of Harborne AFC booed when Cleator Moor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Heywood didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colin Selby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Brindley having to interfere. Thomas Graydon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alf Ansell kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tom Jenas made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by CJ Lydiate during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. CJ Lydiate kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Colin Selby who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Joseph Brindley when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 62nd minute, Jonathon Malpeli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute of the match Damion Pritchard shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ged Abbott showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jermaine Baker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ged Abbott stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kurt Heywood's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Tom Jenas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Brindley having to interfere. Neil Lundy kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. If Jermaine Baker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
