Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kev Claydon in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Russell Perryman saved Purfleet FC from getting behind. Glyn Carragher blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruce Chiverton having to make a save. Glyn Carragher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Bruce Chiverton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Romford City's goalkeeper Bruce Chiverton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Kev Claydon fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Kev Claydon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Russell Perryman having to interfere. Russell Perryman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Noel Hardy in the 31st minute. 35 minutes into the match, Romford City's goal looked a bit too open when Glyn Carragher came free, but Bruce Chiverton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romford City's Bruce Chiverton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Max Moss in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Glyn Carragher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Purfleet FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Glyn Carragher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruce Chiverton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 played minutes Purfleet FC got a freekick which was hit by Shane Goodwin. Kev Claydon struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Russell Perryman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Romford City. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kev Claydon was the one to do the kick off. After 60 minutes, Trevor Woodford mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Romford City and the Purfleet FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th minute, Trevor Woodford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Purfleet FC's Zack Ronson tried to score from far away in the 61st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Romford City's Duncan Lawton got a free kick in the 65th minute. Zack Ronson didn't quite understand what happened when in the 67 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Glyn Carragher was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 71st minute. Purfleet FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Max Moss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the match, Romford City's goalkeeper Bruce Chiverton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Max Moss. Max Moss struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Bruce Chiverton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Purfleet FC. With a little luck, Romford City's Bruce Chiverton got control of the ball when Max Moss tried to sneak it across the goal line. Russell Perryman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kev Claydon in the 93rd minute of the match. A collision led to Purfleet FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Shane Goodwin hit a great ball. Purfleet FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
