Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Gareth Broadhurst started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute, Ivor Gray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kev Appleton spun around in front of the goal 4 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Westbourne's goal. In the 9th match minute, Carterton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by CJ Wild to maneuver through the defense. Thom Perkins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Mickey Nowland made a huge save. A collision led to Carterton getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. James Beck hit a great ball. Gareth Broadhurst recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Thom Perkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gareth Broadhurst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Mickey Nowland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Westbourne's goalkeeper Rupert Cooper, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st minute Crispin Merrill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rupert Cooper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gareth Broadhurst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Mickey Nowland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mickey Nowland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gareth Broadhurst in the 35th minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Westbourne got a freekick which was hit by Philip Rowling. Mickey Nowland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gareth Broadhurst, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute, Crispin Merrill left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carterton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Gareth Broadhurst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickey Nowland having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Rupert Cooper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kev Appleton in the 52nd minute of the match. Kev Appleton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Rupert Cooper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kev Appleton in the 66th minute of play forced Westbourne's goalkeeper Rupert Cooper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute Gareth Broadhurst shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mickey Nowland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kev Appleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mickey Nowland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gareth Broadhurst's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. After 81 played minutes Kev Appleton rounded Westbourne's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-3. Crispin Merrill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rupert Cooper having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kev Appleton in the 91st minute of play forced Westbourne's goalkeeper Rupert Cooper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
