Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Christian England got the match started through his kick off. After a rather tough play, Beaconsfield United's Conan Tucker got a free kick in the 6th minute. Eddy Rouse made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Ian Walton sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 16 minutes, Christian England managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shireoaks FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christian England was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Garry Townsend's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus Davison read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. With his leg Eddy Rouse managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Shireoaks FC's Ian Walton fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 22 played minutes Beaconsfield United got a freekick which was hit by Billy Lincoln. In the 24th minute Shireoaks FC were awarded a corner. Paul Sheene went to the cornerflag to take it. Shireoaks FC's Marcus Davison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pete Kempson in the 26th minute of play. Eddy Rouse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian England in the 28th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Christian England managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shireoaks FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christian England was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eddy Rouse breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
