Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ross Croyden took the kick off in the first half of the match. Kristopher Pyrah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CJ Lofthouse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristopher Pyrah in the 13th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Steven Renner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nathan Whitworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Prescot booed when Shelfield City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lee Dunlop didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shelfield City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Kristopher Pyrah scored to the left of an out of position CJ Lofthouse, making the score, 1-1. Greg Hutchins struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. CJ Lofthouse didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Prescot. After having played for 39 minutes, Ross Croyden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shelfield City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ross Croyden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nathan Whitworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ross Croyden in the 43rd minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kristopher Pyrah stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Greg Hutchins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but CJ Lofthouse read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Prescot getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Jimmy McBreen hit a great ball. Nathan Whitworth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ross Croyden, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. CJ Lofthouse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristopher Pyrah in the 68th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Kristopher Pyrah had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of CJ Lofthouse. Shelfield City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kristopher Pyrah was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. CJ Lofthouse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristopher Pyrah, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 73rd minute, Ozzy Fleetham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nathan Whitworth acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 75th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Johnny Shotton. 78 minutes into the match, Prescot's goalkeeper Nathan Whitworth had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steven Renner. Ross Croyden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CJ Lofthouse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Greg Hutchins in the 89th minute of play. Ross Croyden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Nathan Whitworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Prescot had won after a very even match.
