Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Reggie Kirkpatrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Howard Radcliffe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karl Lumb's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carlton Cole read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Graham Walls hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Jack Warne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard and well directed shot from Damian Knight led 12 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Comberton's Reggie Kirkpatrick became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. 15 minutes into the game, Wath upon Dearne AFC's Howard Radcliffe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reggie Kirkpatrick made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Jack Warne hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Wath upon Dearne AFC's Howard Radcliffe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reggie Kirkpatrick narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Martin Dobbs fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Comberton's protests and gave Martin Dobbs a yellow card for diving instead. Martin Dobbs kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Comberton's zone, Lawrence Whalley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reggie Kirkpatrick came out of the goal and Lawrence Whalley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reggie Kirkpatrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lawrence Whalley in the 39th minute of play. Carlton Cole took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kirk Basham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, Wath upon Dearne AFC's goalkeeper Carlton Cole had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karl Lumb.
The wind increased when Howard Radcliffe made the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the game, Reuben Davis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Comberton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wath upon Dearne AFC the free kick. After 60 minutes, Jonathon Senior mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wath upon Dearne AFC and the Comberton players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Wath upon Dearne AFC's Jonathon Senior got a free kick in the 60th minute. After 62 played minutes Wath upon Dearne AFC got a freekick which was hit by Damian Knight. With his leg Reggie Kirkpatrick managed to avoid a goal in the 67thth minute, when Wath upon Dearne AFC's Lawrence Whalley fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lawrence Whalley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Reggie Kirkpatrick made a huge save. After 75 minutes, Giles Purvis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Comberton and the Wath upon Dearne AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of Comberton:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wath upon Dearne AFC:s goal. Kirk Basham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Comberton booed when Wath upon Dearne AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Monk didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute, Jonathon Senior hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kirk Basham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
