Don Ward walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Ian Graydon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harry Burkinshaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Roger Mumford fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wheaton Aston's protests and gave Roger Mumford a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Oswaldtwistle booed when Wheaton Aston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Mumford didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oswaldtwistle's Don Ward couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Wheaton Aston. Roger Mumford hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abraham Froggatt in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlton Duff saved Wheaton Aston from getting behind. Abraham Froggatt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Carlton Duff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 32 played minutes, Oswaldtwistle's Gaz Boxall shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlton Duff came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oswaldtwistle reached it. When Oswaldtwistle's Abraham Froggatt in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wheaton Aston's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Froggatt in the 35th minute of play forced Wheaton Aston's goalkeeper Carlton Duff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Calum Camfield managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oswaldtwistle's supporters rose to their feet, but Calum Camfield was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlton Duff breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Harry Burkinshaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abraham Froggatt to strike the kick off in the second half. Calum Camfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Carlton Duff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ian Graydon got free in front of the goal in the 54th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Orson Lundy was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Oswaldtwistle's Orson Lundy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Burkinshaw in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Calum Camfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carlton Duff didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 68th minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. After having played for 75 minutes, Abraham Froggatt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oswaldtwistle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Froggatt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 82ndth minute of the game Ian Graydon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oswaldtwistle's Orson Lundy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 85th minute Ian Graydon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orson Lundy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
