Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Barrie Sparkes started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Barrie Sparkes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crawley's supporters rose to their feet, but Barrie Sparkes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kirk Carroll breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 14th minute, Cody Keyworth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Barrie Sparkes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Adam Devine came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Basingstoke FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adam Devine couldn't finish the play. Cody Keyworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alf Soares having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Adam Devine made a precise shot to the right of Alf Soares. Crawley's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 29 minutes into the match, Basingstoke FC's goal looked a bit too open when Barrie Sparkes came free, but Kirk Carroll reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alf Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cody Keyworth in the 31st minute of the match. If Cody Keyworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If George Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Crawley's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Devine came free, but Alf Soares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cody Keyworth stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cody Keyworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Basingstoke FC's zone, Barrie Sparkes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kirk Carroll came out of the goal and Barrie Sparkes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Basingstoke FC's Cody Keyworth in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Crawley's goalie prevented a goal. In the 60th minute, Jeremy Draper hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adam Devine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Alf Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 67 played minutes, Basingstoke FC's Rich Notley shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alf Soares came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Basingstoke FC reached it. Adam Devine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Alf Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute George Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kirk Carroll showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Winterbottom, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 75 played minutes Basingstoke FC got a freekick which was hit by George Jones. In the 78th minute of the match Ronny Hamilton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kirk Carroll showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kirk Carroll made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barrie Sparkes in the 79th minute of play. Barrie Sparkes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirk Carroll having to interfere. In the 84th minute Barrie Sparkes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kirk Carroll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barrie Sparkes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronny Hamilton hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Kirk Carroll showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barrie Sparkes, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
