Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Denzil Faith started the match with the kick off. Zackary Brayford made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phil Darby in the 4th minute. If Denzil Faith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Mossley's zone, Rufus Portway stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marty Ellis came out of the goal and Rufus Portway tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Mossley's Darren Hughes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zackary Brayford. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. A hard shot 23 in the game by Darren Hughes from a close distance when the talented Zackary Brayford managed to make a qualified save. Ormskirk United's players were relieved. In the 26th minute, Rufus Portway made a precise shot to the right of Marty Ellis. Mossley's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denzil Faith in the 35th minute of play forced Mossley's goalkeeper Marty Ellis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ormskirk United's Zackary Brayford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darren Hughes in the 39th minute of play. Phil Darby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Zackary Brayford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Mossley's Zackary Brayford threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Darren Hughes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Ormskirk United's Martin Moore got a free kick in the 44th minute. Zackary Brayford made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Phil Darby sent off a good shot on target. In the 46th match minute, Ormskirk United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lewis Hanson to maneuver through the defense.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Darren Hughes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Ormskirk United booed when Mossley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tris Frost didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Darren Hughes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Darren Hughes came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Mossley fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darren Hughes couldn't finish the play. Darren Hughes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zackary Brayford having to interfere. Phil Darby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mossley's Marty Ellis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denzil Faith in the 72nd minute of play. A collision led to Mossley getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Tris Frost hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denzil Faith in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marty Ellis saved Mossley from getting behind. Zackary Brayford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phil Darby in the 78th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Ormskirk United's goal looked a bit too open when Darren Hughes came free, but Zackary Brayford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Rufus Portway ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marty Ellis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Lenny Alderson charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lenny Alderson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lenny Alderson kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. If Darren Hughes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Mossley supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ormskirk United's performance. The match ended with a win for Ormskirk United.
