Martin Boulton kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Glyn Titmus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alec Wray in the 15th minute. In the 18th minute Rio Rockett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glyn Titmus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bill Broom struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Simeon Washington didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thatto Heath United. Bill Broom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Simeon Washington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alec Wray blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Glyn Titmus having to make a save. Bill Broom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simeon Washington having to interfere. Earle's Alec Wray got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bill Broom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Simeon Washington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simeon Washington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bill Broom in the 38th minute of play. Glyn Titmus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rio Rockett in the 42nd minute of the match. Glyn Titmus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alec Wray in the 45th minute. Simeon Washington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bill Broom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The supporters of Earle booed when Thatto Heath United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Kirkpatrick didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jo Haylock fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thatto Heath United's protests and gave Jo Haylock a yellow card for diving instead. Jo Haylock hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Earle's Simeon Washington proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Earle from getting a goal against them. If Alastair Nevin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bill Broom who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Simeon Washington when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alec Wray might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Glyn Titmus. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alec Wray ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 76th match minute, Thatto Heath United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jo Haylock to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Earle's Felix Faith tried to score from far away in the 77th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ashley Bilham during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Glyn Titmus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rio Rockett in the 83rd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Thatto Heath United's goal looked a bit too open when Alec Wray came free, but Glyn Titmus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
