When Mickey Fitzsymon fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Norton Radstock's protests and gave Mickey Fitzsymon a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes Norton Radstock got a freekick which was hit by Mickey Fitzsymon. Ruben Strong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Charles Patten spun around in front of the goal 9 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Norton Radstock's goal. Stew Birch stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Charles Patten's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Jermaine Pollard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Bourton in the 19th minute of play. Charles Patten struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Stew Birch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rainhill. Stew Birch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles Patten in the 25th minute of the match. Jermaine Pollard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Patterson in the 26th minute. Felix Patterson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32ndth minute of the game Stefan Bourton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rainhill's Jermaine Pollard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Norton Radstock's Stefan Bourton in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rainhill's goalie prevented a goal. Stefan Bourton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Jermaine Pollard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Felix Patterson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jermaine Pollard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Bourton, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Felix Patterson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Pollard having to interfere. In the 48th minute, Leo Staple sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Norton Radstock's Stew Birch didn't even have to move. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stefan Bourton made a kick off. Ruben Strong in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Stew Birch, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Felix Patterson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 69th minute of the match Leon Orchard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jermaine Pollard skillfully saved the ball. In the 71st minute, Ruben Strong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Rainhill's Charles Patten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stew Birch narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stefan Bourton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
