Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when CJ Dry took the kick off in the first half of the match. Vance Hindmarsh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Al Lowe, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Wesley Lydiate sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CJ Dry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hockley City's Malcolm Mabbutt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Hockley City from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Southall booed when Hockley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perry Osbon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Hockley City defense, CJ Dry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Malcolm Mabbutt. The Hockley City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Malcolm Mabbutt should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd minute, Al Barber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Malcolm Mabbutt managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Southall's CJ Dry fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when CJ Dry got free with Malcolm Mabbutt in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vance Hindmarsh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Al Lowe, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The supporters of Hockley City booed when Southall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Al Barber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Perry Osbon scored 1-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vance Hindmarsh, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 38 minutes into the game, Perry Osbon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hockley City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Southall the free kick. After a rather tough play, Hockley City's Perry Osbon got a free kick in the 38th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Hockley City's goal looked a bit too open when Wesley Lydiate came free, but Malcolm Mabbutt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CJ Dry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vance Hindmarsh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terry Draper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Terry Draper stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Terry Draper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vance Hindmarsh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CJ Dry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm Mabbutt having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Southall's goalkeeper Vance Hindmarsh had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Al Lowe. The supporters of Hockley City booed when Southall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garry Martin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Southall's Johnny Brooks got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Hockley City's goalkeeper Malcolm Mabbutt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by CJ Dry in the 82nd minute of play forced Hockley City's goalkeeper Malcolm Mabbutt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Huey Story-Moore reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vance Hindmarsh. The goal made the score 1-2. Al Barber kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Gwyn Corrigan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vance Hindmarsh read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. In the 94th minute Duncan Whittingham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Mabbutt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
