Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Thame's Richard Botham started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Stefan Aiston fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Scarborough's protests and gave Stefan Aiston a yellow card for diving instead. After 3 played minutes Scarborough got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Aiston. Louie Broom was a little too slow when Andre Mayo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 4th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 7 played minutes Scarborough got a freekick which was hit by Nicky Neville. During the 8th minute of the match Stefan Aiston completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Stefan Aiston a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Scarborough's Stefan Aiston got a free kick in the 8th minute. Louie Broom was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Garry Butterfield. Philip Sherwood struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Bobby Boyle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scarborough. A collision led to Scarborough getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Stu Cooper hit a great ball. Scarborough's Philip Sherwood got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicky Neville in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bobby Boyle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Philip Sherwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thame's Bobby Boyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip Sherwood in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Philip Sherwood got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Philip Sherwood struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Bobby Boyle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scarborough. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicky Shackleton during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nicky Neville fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bobby Boyle having to interfere. If Philip Sherwood had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Adrian Gregory had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Richard Botham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicky Neville's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bobby Boyle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to Scarborough getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Nicky Neville hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Scarborough's goalkeeper Louie Broom, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Andre Mayo scored 2-0 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Louie Broom, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Scarborough booed when Thame was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Botham didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 71 minutes, Philip Sherwood managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scarborough's supporters crossed their fingers, but Philip Sherwood was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Thame's goal looked a bit too open when Philip Sherwood came free, but Bobby Boyle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Philip Sherwood's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Bobby Boyle skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 88 minutes of play Scarborough's Nicky Neville was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Scarborough's Nicky Neville got a free kick in the 89th minute. Philip Sherwood blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bobby Boyle having to make a save. 96 minutes into the match, Scarborough's goal looked a bit too open when Andre Mayo came free, but Louie Broom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Thame support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
