Sidney Knowles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reuben Sheridan having to interfere. Roger Adcock hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute, Sidney Knowles made a precise shot to the right of Reuben Sheridan. Louth's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After having played for 10 minutes, Martyn Lambert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Louth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martyn Lambert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Newhaven FC booed when Louth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryan Booker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wesley Renwick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Reuben Sheridan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wesley Renwick struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Reuben Sheridan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newhaven FC. When Dominik Jenas fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Louth's protests and gave Dominik Jenas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Louth getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Dominik Jenas hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Wesley Renwick's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reuben Sheridan was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. After having played for 27 minutes, Sidney Knowles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newhaven FC's Sidney Knowles got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sidney Knowles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Wesley Renwick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Sidney Knowles came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Reuben Sheridan could save by the left post. Reuben Sheridan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Renwick in the 53rd minute of the match. Sidney Knowles's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 59thth minute, Reuben Sheridan skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Reuben Sheridan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Knowles in the 63rd minute of play. If Wesley Renwick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Newhaven FC's zone, Sebastian Barber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Todd Mayfield came out of the goal and Sebastian Barber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th minute, Newhaven FC's Sidney Knowles dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Reuben Sheridan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Renwick in the 71st minute of the match. Reuben Sheridan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Renwick in the 75th minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Newhaven FC's Wesley Renwick sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reuben Sheridan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sidney Knowles made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 86thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Reuben Sheridan would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Sidney Knowles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Newhaven FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Louth throughout the match.
