The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roger Adcock's late challenge caught a Seer Green's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Adcock helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes Louth got a freekick which was hit by Roger Adcock. When Seer Green's Steven Ackland in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Louth's goalie prevented a goal. Reuben Sheridan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Marshall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Louth fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Allan Marshall put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Reuben Sheridan. The audience was convinced that Steven Ackland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reuben Sheridan was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. If Steven Ackland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Seer Green had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
