Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kasey Potter in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Casey Cotterill prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Casey Cotterill came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by spurs city's Marty Blackburn. But to his dismay, Marty Blackburn quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 18 minutes, Al Crocker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. northwich's supporters crossed their fingers, but Al Crocker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute, Marty Blackburn made a precise shot to the right of Casey Cotterill. northwich's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Marty Blackburn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casey Cotterill having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Al Crocker in the 44th minute of play forced spurs city's goalkeeper Ross Westlake to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Kasey Potter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When Marty Blackburn came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the spurs city fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marty Blackburn couldn't finish the play. Ross Westlake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Len Carey in the 81st minute of the match. When Alexander Budge fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored spurs city's protests and gave Alexander Budge a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, spurs city's Alexander Budge got a free kick in the 85th minute. After 86 played minutes, northwich's Joey Drake shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ross Westlake came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in northwich reached it. Al Crocker took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ross Westlake. Ross Westlake dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Jerome Delaney kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. If Al Crocker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ross Westlake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Len Carey in the 97th minute of the match. The spurs city supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing spurs city would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
