Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Peter Masters made the kick off and thus started the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Ryan Childs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. England's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryan Childs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Theo Henwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Masters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peter Masters in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Theo Henwood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ken Leonard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Clive Adamson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 17 played minutes England got a freekick which was hit by Ralph Sheldon. In the 18th minute of the match Patrick Gibson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Clive Adamson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Peter Masters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Masters recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ryan Childs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peter Masters in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Theo Henwood prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 36thth minute of the game Ryan Childs who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hayling Island AFC's Theo Henwood was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ryan Childs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Henwood having to interfere. A collision led to England getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Ralph Sheldon hit a great ball. After some careless play in the England defense, Barrie Midgley kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clive Adamson. The England fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clive Adamson should have stopped the shot. After the first half England were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ken Leonard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ryan Childs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hayling Island AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Peter Masters scored to the left of an out of position Theo Henwood, making the score, 1-3. Ryan Childs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Peter Masters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Masters's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Theo Henwood skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Luke Stonehouse fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hayling Island AFC's protests and gave Luke Stonehouse a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th match minute, Hayling Island AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luke Stonehouse to maneuver through the defense. Ryan Childs's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Theo Henwood skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Peter Masters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th match minute, Hayling Island AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liam Lockwood to maneuver through the defense. Theo Henwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Masters in the 88th minute of the match. After 93 played minutes, England's John Paul Porter shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Theo Henwood came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in England reached it. England played a much better game than Hayling Island AFC and deserved their victory. The Hayling Island AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
